"Südseezauber - Magic of the South Sea" at Chateau Moser

Aloha Bruddah´s,

the summer 2013 will be a nice one if you live in Nuremberg or in the south of Germany, ´cause a couple of Luau´s will hit the town.

The first of our "Magic of the South Sea"-parties will take place at the Chateau Moser, a nice little wine bar in the heart of Nuremberg.

We´ll serve some Tiki drinks from the 1930´s to the 1960´s according to original recipes from "Don the Beachcomber", "Trader Vic" and Ray Buhan, just to name a few.

I hope I´ll see you there guys! We will have a great time together.

Queens Park Swizzle

6 - 8 mint leaves
2/3 oz fresh lime juice
3 tsp brown Demerara sugar
2 oz Appleton VX or Bacardi 8
2 dashes Angostura

Put all ingreditents in a double old-fashioned glass and squeeze carefully, add crushed ice and swizzle. Add crushed to fill.

The original recipe of this cocktail may be a little different, but I prefer these relations of the ingredients.

Oh my God - I love this drink. I have to confess it´s one of my absolute favorites. This is my interpretation of this drink. The original contains more rum, but I like it in a lighter way.

Bell, Book & Candle - Whole lotta Tiki goin´ on

Bai Tiki´s wonderful profile picture on Facebook reminded me on this amazing movie from the 50´s, with a beautiful Kim Novak, a cool Jimmy Stewart and a funny - as usual - Jack Lemon.
I watched this film many times when I was a child and loved the set design, long before I knew what Tiki means.
